Tracing the most picturesque reaches of Iceland’s coast and delving into regions most tourists never see, Residents & Guests challenged the elements and themselves on a true once-in-a-lifetime adventure across the legendary Land of Fire and Ice.

Setting sail from the northern capital of Akureyri, The World wound eastward along the coast to the Austerland region, where Residents & Guests explored inlets and coastal waters on Zodiacs, and hiked the slopes and rivers of Vatnajökull, Europe’s largest glacier.  Sailing to Grimsey Island and the Westfjords, these explorers walked the edges of towering seacliffs, and captured amazing photography of seabirds, waterfalls, and geysers, and were treated to the warm hospitality of fishing communities. The Iceland Expedition came to a fitting and enriching conclusion in the capital Reykjavík, where The World’s adventurers unwound in geothermal baths and shared local cuisine and spirits, along with stories and memories of an experience they alone would ever know.
