Culinary Adventures Aboard The World

Two Michelin Star Chef Creates World Class Dining Experience

Residents of The World were treated to an incredible gastronomic experience recently when two Michelin star Chef Soenil Bahadoer brought his culinary talent and passion for food to the one-of-a-kind residential ship. Owner and head chef of Restaurant de Lindehof in Nuenen, Netherlands, Chef Bahadoer was invited to participate in The World’s 2019 Guest Chefs program, coming aboard in April to create a fine-dining experience in the ship’s haute cuisine restaurant, Portraits. The program welcomes a series of prominent chefs each year to create one-of-a-kind culinary experiences for Residents who own the homes on board. Renowned for its delicious and inventive cuisine and award-winning wine program, the ship’s Food & Beverage Team works with the chefs to create unique epicurean events.

Chef Bahadoer also hosted a cooking demonstration at the Chef’s Table in Marina, The World’s contemporary steakhouse and seafood bar, where he demonstrated his signature dish “Beef Rendang with Ginger Beer Ice Cream.”
“The Michelin star is undoubtedly the highest honor within the international culinary industry,” said The World’s Executive Chef Lionel. “We were privileged to have someone of Chef Bahadoer’s caliber and talents cook for our Residents. They have refined palates and are used to dining in the world’s top restaurants. Our Residents were very impressed with his food, presentation and personality.”
