A voyage through the Red Sea to the Middle East leads to spring and summer in the Mediterranean and Adriatic, with early fall spent in Northern Europe / Scandinavia, Russia and the United Kingdom. Crossing the Atlantic in early October, The World will sail the entire breadth of North Americaโs eastern coast from Montreal to Miami, before transiting the Panama Canal to explore the vibrancy of Panama, Peru, Chile and Argentina. West Papua Expedition 2020
West Papua is the most picturesque part of Indonesia and one of the most vibrant green eco-systems in the world. Traveling approximately 1,800 nautical miles, The World will traverse southbound across the equator to conclude in Darwin, Australia. From Palau to Cenderawasih Bay, Indonesia, this region of over 1,500 cast limestone islands offers unparalleled marine bio-diversity. Kimberly Expedition 2020
In March, The World will explore The Kimberley, the most remote western coast in Australia. Taking in these vast desert landscapes formed by ancient geological processes and shaped by wind and time, the ship will provide a perfect vantage point to observe as the timeless terracotta scenery is immersed into a turquoise sea. In this far-flung point of the Australian continent, Residents will explore the spectacular long canyons and waterfalls by Zodiac, spotting sharks and crocodiles. Aerial views of the surrounding landscapes by helicopter will give better geographical context to the voyage whilst illustrating the narrow interface between land and sea. Days will be dictated by the tides which rise and fall over 20 ft. each day, creating local wonders such as the horizontal waterfalls at Talbot Bay.
Antarctica Expedition 2020
The World will celebrate the holiday season in Antarctica, a pinnacle of expedition sailing. Departing from Ushuaia, the ship will cross the 500 miles of the Drake Passage which separates South America from the Antarctic continent. This infamous stretch of water is home to the albatross and the whale. A journey down the Danco Coast towards the Antarctic Circle follows, taking in the iconic landscapes, vast ice sculptures, and mesmerizing wildlife. Auf einer Reise von etwa 1800 Seemeilen Lรคnge wird die The World anschlieรend in sรผdlicher Richtung den รquator queren, um nach Darwin in Australien zu reisen. Von Palau bis Cenderawasih Bay, Indonesien, bietet diese Region mit mehr als 1500 Kalksteininseln eine marine Artenvielfalt, die sonst nirgends auf der Welt anzutreffen ist. Sie ist einer der besten Orte weltweit fรผr die Beobachtung von Walhaien und beheimatet รผber 12.000 Fischarten, die sich im kristallklaren Wasser zwischen den Riffen tummeln. An Land bieten sich Vogelfans beeindruckende Anblicke wie Paradiesvรถgel und andere tropische Arten. Das Schiff bietet dabei den perfekten Aussichtspunkt auf die schier unendlichen Wรผstenlandschaften, die durch Jahrtausende andauernde geologische Prozesse, Wind und Zeit geschaffen und geformt wurden und sich in verschiedensten Terrakottatรถnen in das tรผrkisfarbene Meer ergieรen. An diesem entlegenen Punkt Australiens erhalten die Bewohner des Schiffs die Mรถglichkeit, spektakulรคre kilometerlange Canyons und Wasserfรคlle auf Zodiacs zu erkunden und Haie und Krokodile zu beobachten. Ein Blick aus der Luft aus dem Helikopter verschafft einen besseren รberblick รผber die geographischen Verhรคltnisse und zeigt diesen dรผnnen Landstrich zwischen Kontinent und See aus einer einzigartigen Perspektive. Strukturiert werden die Tage durch die Gezeiten, die jeden Tag einen Tidenhub von รผber sechs Metern erzeugen und lokale Wunder wie den horizontalen Wasserfall von Talbot Bay erschaffen.
Antarktis-Expedition 2020
Die The World wird die Weihnachtsfeiertage in der Antarktis verbringen โ einem der Highlights aller Seefahrtexpeditionen. Nach einem Aufenthalt in Ushuaia durchquert das Schiff die 800 km breite Drake-Passage, die die Kontinente Sรผdamerika und Antarktis voneinander trennt. Diese berรผhmt-berรผchtigte Passage ist die Heimat zahlreicher Albatrosse und Wale. Wรคhrend der darauffolgenden Reise entlang der Danco-Kรผste in Richtung des sรผdlichen Polarkreises kรถnnen die Passagiere die einzigartigen Landschaften mit ihren riesigen Eisskulpturen und interessanten Fauna hautnah erleben.
