September 2019

London, England – September 2019: The World, Residences at Sea has been awarded two prestigious accolades in the The World of Fine Wine magazine’s World’s Best Wine Lists 2019 for a fifth year in a row. The private residential ship received three stars, the highest possible and lead its category as Best Ship Wine List in the World 2019.

A highly prestigious award, The World joins the ranks of some of the finest restaurants on the globe including Restaurant Mosaic at The Orient, South Africa which received Best Wine List in the World 2019, and other three-star winners such as Hide, London and The Yeatman, Porto. This recognition by one of the world’s leading wine magazines is a testament to The World’s impressive wine collection. French and American selections have a very strong presence, followed by emphasis on the wines of Italy, Spain, Australia, New Zealand, Germany and others. In each of these countries, the Beverage Team looks for the exceptional producers, sprinkled with a few newcomers that have sparked interest along the way, and wines that are nuanced, elegant and reflect the characteristics of their terroir.

Commenting on the accolade, The World’s Beverage Manager, Ms. Ivanova said, “It is one again an honor for The World to be recognized at the highest level for the fifth year running and alongside the best establishments in the world. The World’s onboard Sommelier team has the unique challenge and privilege of putting together a diverse wine selection sourced throughout the globe during our travels. Our voyages take us to the world’s greatest wine regions, presenting an opportunity to explore wines locally. The philosophy of our wine program reflects the unique concept of our Ship.
