The World of Fine Wine Magazine Awards The World, Residences at Sea ‘Best Ship Wine List 2025’

[FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida, October 2025] – The World, Residences at Sea, the largest privately owned residential mega yacht on Earth, has been awarded ‘Best Ship Wine List’ in the world for a remarkable 11th consecutive year by The World of Fine Wine (WFW) magazine. The announcement was made at the WFW’s World’s Best Wine Lists Awards 2025 by Editor-in-Chief and Chair of the judges Neil Beckett and WFW Food Editor and World’s Best Wine Lists judge Francis Percival who hosted the awards dinner at London’s historic The Savoy Hotel.

This year’s expanded event was attended by international guests who represented the crème de la crème of the global hospitality sector which honors the best places in the world to drink wine. As a lead category winner, The World joins the ranks of some of the finest restaurants across the globe.

“This recognition by one of the world’s leading wine magazines is an honor,” said The World’s Vice President, Sales & Marketing Linda Schultes who accepted the award. “We are grateful to be recognized by The World of Fine Wine for 11 years running. It is truly a testament to the dedication and expertise of The World’s beverage managers and sommeliers for creating an exceptional wine list. We thank our Residents for their ongoing support and encouragement which inspires our Beverage Team to innovate and elevate the wine experience on board.

“As global interest in fine wines continues to soar, recognitions like this are a testament to The World’s commitment to excellence,” said Mrs. Schultes. “Our Beverage Team has the unique privilege of working for a sophisticated group of wine connoisseurs—our Residents.

“Thanks to our global itinerary, we source wines locally, building an expansive collection in our cellars and wine vaults,” she added. “Our wine list reflects the Ship’s global journey and the special relationships that we have with renowned winemakers worldwide. They grant us access to rare, small-production vintages and invite our Residents to tour and even dine in their cellars, some of which are not open to the public. Being a Resident on The World is a wine lover’s dream.”

The World houses an extensive wine list featuring over 1,200 labels from 22 countries, 34 labels of sake, and a cellar capacity of 15,000 bottles—not to mention over 300 spirits. According to Beverage Manager Leandro Alves, The World’s wine program rivals the finest cellars on land.

“In 2024, the Ship launched The World Barrel Program, debuting its inaugural vintage: The Journey,” he added. “Crafted by Viniv, owned by the Cazes family of Château Lynch-Bages, this exclusive 2022 Bordeaux blend (80% Cabernet Sauvignon, with Merlot and Cabernet Franc) is sourced from Bordeaux’s finest appellations.”

“With extraordinary aging potential, The Journey is expected to reach its peak by December 2027,” said Mr. Alves. “Every Residence on board the Ship received a bottle, with the remaining bottles maturing in The World’s onboard cellar until their official release.”

In support of the community’s focus on health and wellness, The World introduced a curated list of non-alcoholic wines last year. The selection offers an elegant and flavorful option for those seeking a refined drinking experience without alcohol. The list complements the Ship’s commitment to providing a diverse range of wine options that cater to Residents’ varying tastes and lifestyles.

Sustainability also remains a key aspect of its wine program featuring biodynamic and organic wines.

The Beverage Team remains committed to delivering an unparalleled wine experience. From precise serving techniques to expertly curated pairings, it strives for excellence at every step. Its wine-by-the-glass program, featuring Coravin for still wines, and Perlage for sparkling wines, ensures every pour is at its peak freshness. Above all, team takes immense pride in sharing the stories behind each bottle, deepening its Residents’ connection to the world’s finest wines.
