Le Petit Train from Collioure to Port-Vendres, France
As Le Petit Train climbed up the hill between Collioure and Port-Vendres, France, we had an excellent view through the vineyards of our Ship anchored just outside of Collioure port.
Le Petit Train (the little train) de Collioure and Port-Vendres provided a pleasant way for us to explore the hillside and seaside between these two breathtaking ports, located just north of the Spanish-French border. Our 3-year old grandson had a great time, and correctly observed that the “locomotive” was really a “car.” (The train runs on automobile roads, not train tracks.)
Further up the hill Le Petit Train (the little train) climbed through the vineyards offering an excellent view of Collioure and the coast of southwest France to the north.
The top of the hill afforded an excellent view of the town of Collioure, France, with the coast and coastal mountains in the background.
The vineyards in the hills above Collioure, France are planted to Rhone-style grape varietals (e.g., Grenache, Mouvedre, Syrah, etc.) that are used in the production of crisp, refreshing Rose wines (which we enjoyed over several lunches).
The harbor of Port-Vendres, France (just north of the Spanish-French border and just south of Collioure), is nestled between two coastal hills.
