The World of Fine Wine Magazine Awards The World, Residences at Sea ‘Best Ship Wine List 2026’
[FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida, October 2026] – The World, Residences at Sea, the largest privately owned residential megayacht on Earth, has once again been recognized by The World of Fine Wine (WFW) Magazine as the world’s ‘Best Ship Wine List,’ marking the 12th consecutive year the Ship has received the prestigious honor. The award was announced at the 2026 WFW’s World’s Best Wine Lists Awards at London’s historic The Savoy Hotel, where the annual awards celebrate exceptional wine programs from leading restaurants and hospitality establishments around the world.
The continued recognition underscores The World’s commitment to creating a wine program that reflects both the breadth of its global itinerary and the discerning tastes of its Residents. With more than 1,300 wine labels representing 21 countries, a cellar capacity of approximately 15,000 bottles, 34 labels of sake and more than 300 spirits, The World’s Beverage Team curates a collection designed to evolve alongside the Ship’s travels.
“Receiving this recognition from The World of Fine Wine for the 12th consecutive year is a tremendous honor and a testament to the passion and expertise of our exceptional Beverage Team,” said Jessica Hoppe, President and CEO at The World, Residences at Sea. “What makes our wine program truly special is how closely it is connected to our global journey. As we explore the world, our Residents experience the wines of the regions we visit, bringing each destination to life through its distinctive flavors and winemaking traditions.”
Ms. Hoppe explained how The World’s wine program offers opportunities to source bottles directly from the regions visited along the Ship’s itinerary.
“Through the remarkable relationships our Beverage Team has cultivated with renowned winemakers around the globe, Residents also enjoy exclusive opportunities to visit celebrated vineyards and wineries, some not open to the general public, meet the people behind the wines, and deepen their appreciation for the places we explore,” she added. “These connections have provided access to rare and small-production wines, as well as opportunities for Residents to visit wineries, tour cellars and dine with producers in destinations around the world.”
Over the past year, The World has welcomed distinguished figures from the international wine community, including Dean Hewitson of Australia’s Hewitson winery, Emma Bruwer of South Africa’s Springfield Estate, Edouard Moueix of Dominus Estate in Napa Valley, and Andrea León of Chile’s Clos Apalta. More than an opportunity to enjoy exceptional wines, these intimate encounters offer Residents a deeper understanding of the art and science of winemaking, from the unique characteristics of each vineyard to the traditions and techniques that shape every vintage. By meeting winemakers personally, hearing their stories and discovering the passion behind their craft, Residents develop a richer appreciation for the wines they enjoy and the regions from which they originate.
“The beauty of our wine program is that it is constantly evolving,” Ms. Hoppe continued. “Every destination offers an opportunity to discover something new and give our Residents a deeper connection to the region through its wines. Our goal is to bring those discoveries together with an extensive collection that offers something meaningful for every wine enthusiast on board.”
Beyond its extensive collection, The World continues to develop its wine offerings in response to the evolving preferences of its Residents. The Ship features a carefully selected range of non-alcoholic wines, alongside organic and biodynamic wines, offering greater diversity while reflecting an ongoing interest in responsible viticulture.
“Our responsibility goes beyond selecting great wines,” added Ms. Hoppe. “We want every aspect of the experience, from how a bottle is stored and served to the story shared behind it, to reflect the quality of what is in the glass. Our Residents are incredibly knowledgeable and curious about wine, and that challenges our team to continually learn, explore and find new ways to make each experience memorable.”
The Beverage Team’s attention to detail extends to The World’s wine-by-the-glass program, where Coravin technology is used for still wines and Coravin Sparkling for Champagne and other sparkling wines. These preservation systems allow Residents to explore a wider selection by the glass while helping maintain the quality and character of each wine.
Through thoughtful pairings, attentive service and a collection shaped by the Ship’s global travels, The World continues to offer a distinctive wine experience at sea.
