London, England – December 2021: The World, Residences at Sea has been awarded three prestigious accolades in The World of Fine Wine magazine’s World’s Best Wine List Awards 2021. The privately owned residential ship has for the first time been crowned Regional Winner for Best Sake Wine List (outside of Japan), alongside maintaining the highest possible three-star Wine List rating and upholding Best Ship Wine List in The World for the seventh consecutive year.

As a lead category winner, The World joins the ranks of some of the finest restaurants on the globe including serial success story Terroir and Eleven Madison Park, New York and Wickens at Royal Mail Hotel, Dunkeld, Victoria. This recognition by one of the world’s leading wine magazines is a testament to The World’s impressive and unique wine collection.

Impressed by The World’s offering, the prestigious judging panel commented on the Wine List’s “well-balanced menu, with a good mix of regions, producers and styles, famous and less well-known producers, older and younger vintages, highly rated and underrated years.” The list was also praised for the “breadth of origin, style, grape varieties, and by-the-glass offerings” with a particular specialism or regional themes that reflect The World’s continuous journey. The panel highlighted that “the list provides a really good exploration of particular producers, such as Lucien Le Moine, and regions, for example the Australian selection is very good. It is great to see that organic, biodynamic and Kosher wines are indicated in the list.”
