The World Honored by The World of Fine Wine Magazine
The World of Fine Wine (TWFW) magazine is considered to be one of the top resources for wine aficionados. Their annual World’s Best Wine Lists is a prestigious catalog of the finest wine collections across the globe. This year, The World was honored with three stars (the highest possible) on the list, and was awarded “Best Ship 2015”.
“Even by the standards of luxury ships, The World sets the bar remarkably high,” praised TWFW in their recent article. “As the judges at the World’s Best Wine Lists 2015 said, it is, appropriately enough, a globe-trotting list, that covers the entire winemaking world. Not only that, the judges added, in making that vinous journey, it makes sure it has ‘all of the best of the best,’ big name producers from California, to Bordeaux, Burgundy, Tuscany, and Piedmont, with many mature vintages.”
The honor of three stars was only bestowed to 300 of the 4,000 wine lists assessed by an esteemed panel of senior judges and experts, including Alder Yarrow, Ch’ng Poh Tiong, and TWFW Editor Neil Beckett.
According to World Sommelier Champion Gerard Bassett, “These exciting new global awards are rapidly becoming as coveted as Michelin Stars.”
“To be included in the top wine lists in the world is pretty incredible,” says The World’s Beverage Manager Marinela Ivanova. “Our goal is to rival the best restaurants on the planet. I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to our Residents. They deserve all the credit for supporting this one-of-a-kind project called The World.”

General Manager Arjan Scheepers agrees. “We have our Residents to thank for their continuing support. They give us the freedom to purchase a broad and quality selection of fine wines from around the world. We always knew that we had an incredible wine collection and now that has been confirmed by a team of expert wine connoisseurs.”
