The World

Los Angeles (San Pedro), California: 3 Jun 2009 to 5 Jun 2009

L.A., the City of Angels, Lalaland, “The Coast”…whatever you call it, Los Angeles is truly a metropolis unlike any other. Palm-lined boulevards, movie and TV studios, a sidewalk paved with stars, miles and miles of beaches and gated mansions at every turn. Convertibles, sunglasses, perfect bodies and even more perfect teeth may seem prerequisites for residency, but the city is far more than Rodeo Drive and lunch at Spago.

The familiar icons of the HOLLYWOOD sign and Grauman’s Chinese Theater have been joined by the fabulous Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Getty Center. Restaurants range from trendy and trend-setting, see-and-be-seen spots to tiny taquerias and the famous Pink’s hotdog stand in Hollywood (yes, there is valet parking). Whatever your interests—from museums to mausoleums, professional baseball or a concert under the stars at the Hollywood Bowl, rollerblading along Venice Beach or afternoon tea at the Polo Lounge—Los Angeles is sure to please.
