San Juan Del Sur: 23 Apr 2009 to 24 Apr 2009

Sheltered by verdant volcanic hills, the horseshoe-shaped harbour of San Juan del Sur welcomes fishing boats and private yachts alike. Small hotels draped in bougainvillea front the white sand beach, providing lodging to vacationers from Managua and surfers from around the globe.

Visit the nearby La Flor Wild Life Refuge, one of two beaches on Nicaragua’s Pacific coast where thousands of paslama turtles come to lay their eggs each year between July and January. The reserve’s 800 hectares (nearly 2000 acres) are home to a variety of monkeys, coyotes, raccoons, green iguana and black garrobo (spiny-tail iguana), along with a range of vibrant native birds.
