Rhodes: 10 Jun 2008 to 12 Jun 2008

Greek Mythology has it that the sea thrust forth a piece of land as a gift to Helios, the Sun God, who named the island after his beloved Rhodes, daughter of Venus. The Old Town lies within the ancient city walls, while the New Town spreads out beyond it. The Palace of the Grand Masters, built by the Knights of St. John, stands proudly atop the Acropolis. The island holds many delights, among them the Valley of the Butterflies and the village of Trianda. And best of all, Lindos, where whitewashed houses and winding lanes wrap around two crescent beaches—atop it all, the Temple of Athena.
