Innovative gastronomic creations that delight the palate are the bare minimum of what can be expected for all onboard culinary experiences. Whether dining in one of the Ship’s six unique restaurants, or  having a meal prepared in your own private Residence, The World’s  master chefs display extraordinary skill in preparing global cuisine with the freshest local ingredients, unmatched passion, creativity, and enthusiasm. This is what distinguishes and defines the experience of dining aboard The World.

The culmination of creativity, fresh ingredients, and unrivaled talent is also embodied by The World’s  Beverage Team, who pair the principles of modern mixology with local fruits and spices to create inventive cocktails that constantly change with the Ship’s location. Residents can imbibe in both unique creations and classic cocktails in numerous lounges and bars on board, including the Cigar Club, Lobby Bar, Marina Bar, Pool Bar, Regatta Bar and Quantum.

When in port, members of the Culinary team don ‘explorer’ hats and go in search of local markets for fresh and indigenous ingredients. Whether featuring Alaskan king crab, French cheeses and truffles, Peruvian trout or Caribbean spiny lobster, The World’s  chefs bring the destination to life in the meals they create to further enhance the Journey. Residents sometimes accompany the chefs to local markets to further immerse themselves in the culture and to enrich their culinary knowledge.

Ashore, the Culinary Team arranges for epicurean experiences that can’t be found elsewhere, like an exquisite Kobe beef dinner in Japan or a private 35-course meal in Farran Adria’s El Bulli before it closed its gates.

Award-Winning Wine Program

With an extensive wine list of over 1,100 selections hand-picked from 19 countries and a wine cellar holding over 14,000 bottles, The World of Fine Wine has listed The World  as Best Ship three years in a row with their coveted three-star status.

The wines themselves are only the beginning. The World’s  Beverage Manager and Head Sommelier welcome select winemakers aboard the Ship, where they discuss topics like wine production and pairing with the Residents. When curating wines from new destinations, the preferences and tastes of The World’s  Residents are always a top consideration of the Head Sommelier.  To extend the experience onshore, the Culinary Team often arranges exclusive visits and dinners at the most unique vineyards, some of which have not opened their doors to visitors in years. Even for the most knowledgeable oenophiles, these represent the absolute pinnacle of wine experiences.
